For over 20 years, Danielle Guglielmino has been committed to providing the best holistic care through the use of massage, bodywork, and macrobiotic cooking and counseling. I invite you to come experience what these therapies can do for you.
Therapeutic massage is a style that can incorporate several modalities as needed depending on your health concerns. Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, IPT (Integrated Positional Therapy), Myofascial Release, Gua Sha, and Cupping.
Shiatsu is a style of acupressure bodywork that is done on a futon mat on the floor. Shiatsu activates the ki energy circulating in the body. The focus is to open and allow ease in movement in the body, clearing blockages or stagnation. This work includes stretching, acupressure, and Myofascial release, Shin Tai, and Hara massage. Shiatsu helps with stress, fatigue, anxiety, tension and pain.
Macrobiotic Counseling is personalized dietary and lifestyle guidance rooted in the principles of macrobiotics. Danielle’s unique approach not only incorporates her experience in macrobiotics, but bodywork and science-based research as well. Each session provides a confidential space to discuss your health concerns and goals, a body scan using eastern philosophy of facial and body diagnosis, and examining meridian channels with light to medium pressure shiatsu. You will receive lifestyle and dietary recommendations, recipes and remedies. This includes two follow-up phone calls up to 20 minutes or emails for any questions and to review your progress.
This massage promotes relaxation and stress relief. Pressure is light to medium, and includes gentle stretches, kneading, and tapping(tapotement).
These techniques focus on releasing tension in the deeper layers of the muscle, as well as fascial adhesions, and scar tissue. Promotes circulation, muscle function and range of motion.
A dynamic form of bodywork combining traditional shiatsu acupressure as well as techniques to release soft tissue(fascia), joints and muscles, chakras and meridians. Helping to let go of negative patterns, stress and anxiety.
A Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice that uses a smooth edge tool to gently scrape the skin. This improves circulation and can break up tension within fascia and muscle tissue, as well as energy (chi or ki) stagnation.
An ancient healing method that started in various forms as folk medicine, using suction to pull on the skin and increase blood flow. It helps reduce pain and inflammation, and ease muscle tension.
A light and gentle massage technique that uses minimal pressure and slow movement to open torsions in the myofascial tissue. Fascia is a thin connective tissue that surrounds most structures within the body, including muscles. It helps treat chronic pain.
Using osteopathic techniques of Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and Strain- Counterstrain (SCS) to realign the body’s structure and improve muscular-skeletal function. MET, an assisted form of stretching using active muscle contractions, is a very effective tool that lengthens tight and constricted muscles and restores range of motion. SCS is a more passive technique where the affected area is slacked or shortened and held for 60-120 seconds, allowing the muscle fibers to release and relieve pain and tension.
“Traditional acupressure theory says that disease arises from rebellion against the natural way—our inner nature. The alternative is paying attention to our feelings and inner self and letting it guide us so that we can live more fully and actualize our whole potential.”

Danielle began her study in Macrobiotics and alternative healing methods in 1999. After experiencing the benefits for herself she continued her exploration and education at the Strengthening Health Institute and the International School of Shiatsu in Philadelphia.
In 2003, Danielle became nationally certified by the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA) and began teaching macrobiotic cooking classes and assisting those transitioning to a plant-based diet.
Upon her return to Connecticut, she attended the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy and obtained her state license in 2005. Since, Danielle has expanded her practice and trained in Cranio-sacral Therapy, Shin Tai, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Integrated Positional Therapy(IPT), Gua Sha, and Cupping.
Her experience with this combination of healing techniques has shown that using diet, natural remedies, bodywork and massage helps strengthen the body for a more complete sense of health and well-being.
